Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Strategic Foresight undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope. The identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.
1. Initial Screening
-
Every submitted manuscript is first reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief or Editorial Team to evaluate its compliance with the journal’s scope, formatting requirements, and ethical standards.
-
Manuscripts that do not meet these basic criteria may be rejected without external review or returned to the author for revision before being sent to reviewers.
2. Plagiarism Check
-
All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software.
-
Manuscripts with a similarity index above 25% (excluding references) will be returned or rejected.
3. Peer Review
-
Eligible manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.
-
The review process applies a double-blind system, meaning both author and reviewer identities remain anonymous.
-
Reviewers assess the manuscript based on:
-
Originality and contribution to knowledge
-
Relevance to journal scope
-
Research methodology and analysis
-
Clarity of presentation and structure
-
Accuracy and adequacy of references
-
4. Review Results
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editor will make one of the following decisions:
-
Accept without revision
-
Accept with minor revisions
-
Reconsider after major revisions
-
Reject
Authors are notified of the editorial decision and provided with the reviewers’ comments. Authors must revise and resubmit the manuscript within the specified time if revisions are required.
5. Revision and Final Decision
-
The revised manuscript is re-evaluated by the editor (and reviewers if necessary).
-
The final decision (acceptance or rejection) is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the quality of the revision.
6. Proofreading and Publication
-
Accepted manuscripts undergo final editing, proofreading, and layout formatting before publication.
-
The final version is then published online in the upcoming issue of Strategic Foresight.
