Screening for Plagiarism Policy

To maintain the integrity and originality of the scientific work published in Strategic Foresight, all submitted manuscripts are subject to a plagiarism screening process prior to peer review and publication.

1. Plagiarism Check Procedure

  • Every manuscript submitted to Strategic Foresight will be screened using reliable plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or other equivalent tools*).

  • The Editorial Team conducts the initial plagiarism check before the manuscript is sent for peer review.

  • If plagiarism is detected at any stage—before, during, or after publication—the Editorial Team reserves the right to take necessary actions in accordance with ethical publication standards.

2. Acceptable Similarity Level

  • The acceptable similarity index is no more than 25%, excluding the bibliography or references section.

  • Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author for revision or rejected outright.

3. Types of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, the following practices:

  • Copying text, figures, or tables from other sources without proper citation.

  • Paraphrasing significant portions of another author’s work without acknowledgment.

  • Self-plagiarism — submitting previously published work or substantial parts of one’s own published article without disclosure or citation.

  • Duplicate submission or publication — submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.

4. Actions in Case of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is found:

  • Before publication — the manuscript will be rejected immediately.

  • After publication — the article will be retracted, and a retraction notice will be published on the journal’s website.

  • Authors involved in proven plagiarism may be blacklisted from future submissions to Strategic Foresight.

5. Author Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring the originality of their manuscripts. By submitting to Strategic Foresight, authors confirm that their work:

  • Is entirely original;

  • Has not been published elsewhere;

  • Properly acknowledges the sources of all referenced materials.
